There were sequels that followed Blood Omen, with each of these being developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos instead. The original Blood Omen was developed by Silicon Knights and published by Crystal Dynamics in the late-90s as a top-down action adventure that also had RPG elements. This one in particular was never re-released onto modern systems, until recently, thanks to the GOG storefront. These games all have their fans, with almost every game in the series being available to play through modern ports all except the game that started it all, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. This includes The Legacy of Kain, a complex RPG narrative series that has been radio silent ever since publisher Eidos was acquired by Square Enix. With Crystal Dynamics focused on maintaining the Marvel's Avengers game, some of its prior franchises have been left to the wayside for a bit.
